Sam was born on June 23, 1954 in Fort Worth, Texas, and his parents were Clarence and Lennie D Johnston Tisdale. He grew up on the Barnet Springs Ranch in San Saba and attended schools in San Saba and the San Marcos Baptist Academy. He resided in San Saba all his life and enjoyed hunting and visiting and joking with his many friends. He was baptized in the San Saba River and attended the Father's House Church when he was able. Sam had a cheerful disposition despite his many health issues and teased and joked until his last day. He became a favorite at the nursing home and considered his care givers his friends and family.

The family would like to thank the staff at the San Saba Rehab and Nursing Center and the Solaris Hospice for their loving care of Sam for many years. They became friends and family to and for him, and we extend our deepest appreciation to each of them for going far beyond the call of duty. We pray blessings over you as you so richly blessed Sam.
