Rosa Elida Pineda
February 25, 1962 – August 30, 2026
Rosa Elida Pineda, 64, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at 10:30 AM. Born on February 25, 1962, in El Salvador, Rosa grew up during a time of hardship and uncertainty. Her childhood was shaped by rugged living conditions and the impact of the civil war, experiences that forged her strength, resilience, and deep compassion for others.
In 1988, seeking safety and a better future, Rosa fled the civil war and came to the United States. She first settled in Los Angeles, California, where she began rebuilding her life with courage and determination. It was in Los Angeles that she met and married her husband, Lucio Pineda, beginning a devoted and loving marriage that anchored her family for decades.
After their marriage, Rosa and Lucio moved to Hemet, California, where she made her home for many years. Hemet became the place where she raised her children, built community, and lived out her faith with joy.
Rosa was the proud mother of six children Manuel, Helen, and Sander, who spent much of their early lives in El Salvador and David, Yamilet, and Carlos, whom she raised alongside Lucio. She cherished each of them deeply and poured her life into their well‑being.
Rosa loved God, family, and cooking above all else. Her greatest joy was worshipping the Lord in song. Next to worship, Rosa poured her heart into cooking. She was known for her extraordinary Salvadorian dishes like pupusas and for mastering Mexican recipes passed down from her mother‑in‑law. Her kitchen was a place of warmth, laughter, and gathering a place where she expressed her love without needing words.
She adored her grandchildren Carlos, Eric, and Janet, and celebrated the arrival of her great‑grandbaby Gio, who brought her immense joy. To Rosa, family extended far beyond blood, her church community was also her family, and she loved them deeply.
After more than thirty years in California, Rosa spent her final four years in Brownwood, Texas, where she enjoyed quieter days, family gatherings, and the closeness of those who loved her most. Her life was a testament to faith, resilience, and unconditional love.
Rosa’s favorite Scripture was Psalm 100, a chapter of joyful praise that reflected her heart for worship and gratitude toward the Lord.
She leaves behind a legacy of strength, devotion, and generosity. She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her joyful worship, her extraordinary cooking, and the way she made everyone around her feel like family.
Arrangements are entrusted to Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.
