RICHARD EARL JACKSON

RICHARD EARL JACKSON, 66, was born on December 7, 1954, in San Saba, TX, to Earl Lewis and Amanda Lee (Smith) Jackson. He peacefully went to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, May 11, 2021. He graduated as a member of the San Saba High School Class of 1973 with many of his life-long friends and then attended Central Texas College in Killeen. He was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church.

Richard moved to Los Angeles after college and worked in several office jobs. He came back home to San Saba and worked for the Santa Fe Railroad as a trackman and truck driver. He later moved to Austin and worked at Abbott Labs and Dell Computers.

Richard was an avid sports fan. He played football and basketball for the Armadillos and was named All-District and Most Athletic his senior year. He loved watching his Texas Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys! He also loved fishing and followed his Daddy's skills as a Master of the Bar-B-Que Pit.

Richard was predeceased by his father, Earl, his grandparents John Luther Smith and Kittie Augusta (Galloway) Smith, A.C. and Ella Mae Jackson, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. His mother Amanda survives him, along with his brothers Russell Lewis Stanfield (Frances) of Memphis, TN, Robert Lincoln Jackson (Janie) of San Saba, his sister Sara L. Jackson of Austin, TX, and a host of cousins and other family from California to New York.

Richard had a gentle heart, kind spirit, and a beautiful smile. He was a good man who will be missed by many.
