McQueen, Ralph Scott
Ralph "Scott" McQueen, age 68, of San Saba, Texas, died Thursday, March 31, 2022, in his home of unknown causes. Memorial services will be held in Stevens Point, Wis. later this summer at an unknown date.
Scott was born Nov. 17, 1953, to the late Ralph and Jean (Walker) McQueen in Corpus Christi, Texas. Scott grew up in Stevens Point, Wis. and attended school at Stevens Point Area High School, graduating 1972. Scott joined the U.S. Navy immediately after graduating high school and served from Jan., 1972 through April, 1975. He was honorably discharged as a Seaman. He had some education at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, where he studied to be an architect. He attended flight school at Spartan Collage of Aeronautics where he obtained his commercial pilot rating. He also worked as plumber with his father's family business, Great Lakes Soft Water Co. Scott also wrote and self-published one book and was in the midst of writing a second.
Scott was married to Becky Neilson on Jan 29, 1983, in Stevens Point, Wis. They were married until their divorce in 2009, in Bedford, Va.
Scott was an avid reader with a life-long interest in aviation and sailing. He was known for his generous spirit as he was always the first to volunteer to help out a neighbor in need of a hand. He valued his faith and was always heavily involved in his church.
Scott is survived by his three daughters, Jenny (Rome) McQueen of Richmond, Va., Carol McQueen, of Dayton, Ohio, and Sarah McQueen of Saint Paul, Minn. He is also survived by his two sisters, Bonnie (Marc) Bouwer and Laurel (Geoff Gayle) McQueen, brother Mark (Baroness) McQueen, and two nieces, Rachael and Ruth Bouwer.
Scott was preceded in death by his father, Mac in 2002, and his mother, Jean in 2014.
