Obituary

Maria (Mary) F. Huron, 82, of San Saba, Texas, passed away on October 29, 2026, at the San Saba Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by the love of her family. She has now reached her final destination in Heaven.

Mary was born on February 27, 1944, in San Saba, Texas, to Carlos B. Flores and Antonia Diaz Flores. She was raised in San Saba and attended school there.

In June 1960, Marry eloped and married the love of her life, Orion B. Huron. Together, they raised four children: Connie Adams (deceased), Orion B. Huron II, Eugene Huron, and Stella Huron.

Marry began working as a cook at San Saba Memorial Hospital in July 1968. While working in the hospital kitchen, she was offered the opportunity to attend school in Abilene to pursue training as a dietician. After one year of study, she earned a certificate as a Specialized Dietician.

She continued working at San Saba Memorial Hospital until June 1978, when she moved to Kerrville, Texas, and accepted a position at Kerrville State Hospital as a Specialized Dietician. Through her dedication and hard work, she was promoted to Kitchen Supervisor, where she oversaw the Specialized Diets Department.

In 1994, Mary returned to San Saba to help care for family members, including her brother, who was battling cancer, and her parents, who had suffered massive strokes. After settling back into her hometown, Mary began a Bible study group. She had a deep and unwavering love for Jesus and wanted everyone she encountered to know Him and experience the same love and faith that meant so much to her.

Mary later worked in the San Saba School Cafeteria and then at the Cherokee School Cafeteria. She dearly loved the students, teachers, and everyone she came in contact with. She also helped raise Hector Jimenez, who attended school in Cherokee, along with others who needed her love and guidance. She found great joy in being able to help wherever she was needed.

In addition to her work in the school cafeterias, Mary served as a caregiver, a role she took very seriously and did with great devotion. She went above and beyond for those in her care, taking them to doctor appointments, helping complete insurance applications, legal paperwork, and even providing financial assistance when needed. Helping others was simply part of who she was. If someone had a need, Mary did what she could to help.

Mary's life was a beautiful reflection of her faith, compassion, and generous heart. She loved her family, her community, and most importantly, her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

She is survived by her three children: Orion B. Huron and his wife, Cecilia; Eugene Huron; and Stella Huron.

Her grandchildren include Rashad and Dannielle Adams, Ashley and Hector Jimenez, Mariah Washington, Juanita and Juan Ramirez, Brooks and Cody Huron, and Jerry Joe Davila.

Her great-grandchildren include Rashad Jr. and Marissa Adams, Marley Huron, Avery Moreno, Mila and Hayes Jimenez, Adelynn Ramirez, Elianna Coronado, Marianna C. Davila, and Ivory Huron Marrison.

Her great-great-grandchildren are Ali and Amara.

She is also survived by her siblings: brothers Richard (Martha) Flores and Edward (Dianne) Flores; sister Virginia (Ernest) Reyes, all of San Saba; Dolores (Jeff) Flores of Sanderson, Florida; Sammie Flores Martinez of Fredericksburg, Texas; and Alice Flores Alvarado of Kerrville, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Orion; daughter, Connie Adams; her parents, Carlos B. Flores and Antonia Diaz Flores; her brothers Rodolfo Flores, David Flores, and Antonio Flores; Suelenna Huron; and her nephew, Andres Flores.

Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing that she is now home with her Lord.
