Margie L. Clark
Margie Lonora Clark peacefully passed away on May 5, 2026 in Kingsland, TX.
Margie is preceded in death by her Mother Maybell Carpenter; Father Johnny Carpenter; Brothers Curtis and Johnny Carpenter; Sisters Odessa Bird and Bell Hall; Husband John Clark.
Margie is survived by her sister Ruth Hodge; Sister-in-Law Barbara Carpenter; Sons Phillip Fry and wife Nicki, David Fry and wife Brenda; Daughters Susie and husband Billy Long, Gwyn and husband David Whited, Carolyn Peterka; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Margie was born on January 21, 1940 in Marble Falls, TX to Johnny and Maybell Carpenter. She grew up in Marble Falls and was baptized as a child in Backbone Creek. Growing up Margie worked hard helping her family in the cotton fields or hauling cedar when she wasn't at church or watching her younger sister, Ruth. She loved the Lord and served him faithfully many years especially in her younger years.
Margie moved to Cherokee 30 plus years ago with her husband John Clark where she enjoyed hosting Thanksgiving with all her family. She loved her family fiercely, but was not afraid to quickly correct you when you misbehaved. She was a true caregiver to her family, friends and anyone in need. Margie was the kind of woman that would do anything to help someone.
Margie was a fun, adventurous woman who was full of life and always ready for a road trip. She often set out going one place and would end up somewhere else entirely different after missing a turn while visiting.
She kept an immaculately clean home and was always ready to help others clean too. In fact, in her later days at the nursing home she was often found folding laundry, cleaning the dinning hall, directing others, or gathering up someone else's shoes.
Margie was a friend to all and loved by many. She touched many lives and her memory will continue to live on through those who got to experience her love and discipline.
In Lieu of flowers please make a donation to Cherokee Cemetery Association Care of Rodney Johnson, P.O. Box 128, Cherokee, TX 76832.
