Lawrence "Larry" Beason, 95, of San Saba, Texas, passed away on December 29, 2024 at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Marble Falls, Texas. A service for Larry will follow the rosary and begin at 3:00 p.m. Interment will take place at the San Saba City Cemetery after the service. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home in San Saba, Texas.

Larry was born to Lawrence Beason and Annie Ault Beason in Malvern, Arkansas, September 28, 1929 and passed peacefully at sunrise on Sunday, December 29th holding the hand of his lifelong love, Madeleine. They were married for 70 ½ beautiful, adventurous years. Larry always said his greatest accomplishment and desire in life was to raise a loving, close family and live to see a great, great grandchild…both of which he did.

When he married Madeleine in 1954 he had two requests. If it be God's will he wanted a large family and secondly, that no liver and onions ever be served in his home. Both of those prayers were answered.

He was a father to six children, Cheryl, Cindy, Cathy, Larry Jr, Cissy, and Mary.

Larry served in the Navy before going to the University of Texas where he met the love of his life, Madeleine. Married in 1954, they joined the U.S. Marine Corps where he served until 1966 attaining the rank of Major. Precious memories were made while serving in the Philippines. Returning to the U.S., Larry attended Law School at the University of Texas before joining Coke and Coke law firm in Dallas for his career and to raise his family. In 1977, he and Madeleine left the big city behind for rural life in Wylie, TX. They raised horses, cattle and dogs, a passion that continued the rest of his life.

He and Madeleine eventually moved to Mineola, Texas after they finished raising their six children. There he set up a private practice, became a municipal judge, made numerous friends, and was Regional Director for USMC Toys for Tots. It gave him profound joy to aid families in need. He and Madeleine were active in the Marine Corps Auxiliary throughout their time in Mineola. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and was known to say, "We'll get 'em next year."

Larry joined his wife in the Catholic Church upon the Baptism of his eldest child. He was an avid prayer warrior, the definition of praying without ceasing for his family and this world. He and Madeleine were founding members of All Saints Catholic Church in Dallas. They were active in St. Anthony Catholic Church in Wylie, and St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Mineola. Having moved to Memphis in 2020, they became members of St. Michael's Catholic Church. There Larry held council with the pastor, Father Ben, who said he always loved Larry's sage advice and sense of humor. Since living in San Saba they have attended St. Mary Catholic Church. Larry had a way of making all he met feel special, loved, and supported. He encouraged others to always have a dream and pursue it. He had a special devotion to the rosary along with Madeleine.

He is survived by his beautiful "Bright Eyes", Madeleine and his children, Cheryl and Steve Edney of Providence Village, Tx; Cindy Carelly of Chicago, Il; Cathy and Dean Reineking of Memphis, Tn; Cissy and Brad Williams of San Saba, Tx; Mary and Bobby Skeeters of Mineola, Tx and special bonus daughter, Kara Parker Hyatt of Malvern, Ark. He had 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild who were all his pride and joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Annie Beason; and his only son, Capt. Lawrence L. Beason Jr USMC; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Floyd Parker.
