Weathers
May 16, 1935 — Jun 14, 2026
Lawana May Weathers, our loving Mom and Nana, passed away in Bedford Texas on June 14, 2026, Lawana was born on May 16,1935 to her loving parents, J B Reagor and Sybil Lawana Cole Reagor in Bangs, Tx.
She graduated from Bangs High School in 1953 where she was a four-year member of the FHA, FHA secretary in 1952-53 and class treasurer in 1952. As a young girl, she loved taking trips with her dad in his truck throughout Texas to pick up supplies. She always said her role was to help him stay awake and to also drive the truck when needed. She always cherished those memories.
After graduation, Lawana was married to Bobby Weathers for 28 years and had two children, Lawana Joyce Weathers and Johnny Bob Weathers. Once the children were grown, Lawana wanted to use her social skills and bookkeeping talents and worked at Banks in Brownwood and Fort Worth as a teller and in the new accounts department. She also helped to open a new bank in Arlington, Texas as a new accounts officer. She later worked at E-Systems in Richardson, Texas. After retiring from E-Systems, she moved home to Bangs, Texas and worked for Olan Mills. With Olan Mills, she traveled throughout Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma developing church directories. After leaving Olan Mills, she worked as a bookkeeper for multiple Dairy Queens in Texas. In 2011, she moved to North Richland Hills to be able to spend more time with her son, daughter-in-law and grandkids. Family was very important to her, always being involved in celebrations, holidays, and providing support to family members when needed. She loved our Lord and Savior and was a member of Bangs First Methodist Church for many years. She had many dear friends and cousins in the Bangs area that she truly loved.
Survivors include her son, Johnny Weathers and wife Janet Weathers of Bedford, Texas, Grandchildren, Shelby Zerrusen and husband Matt of Flower Mound, Lauren Beville and husband Kevin of North Richland Hills and Barton Weathers and wife Hannah of Leander and Eric Golden of DeLeon and 10 great grandchildren, Sisters Nona Horner and husband Conice of Grosvenor Texas and Deedie Reagor of Coleman, Texas and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
