Larry Earl Wickson, 78, of Brownwood, Texas, left this earthly world to join his Heavenly Father on June 2, 2026.  He will be sadly missed by his family, but they will find comfort in knowing they will join him in Heaven.

Larry was born in El Centro, California in 1947.   His family moved back to his native Texas when he was very young where they lived in Menard, Texas, where he grew up along with his bb gun or pellet gun roaming the riverbank that went through the town.  When he was in the sixth grade his parents, Lonnie Earl and Lucille Wickson, moved to Bangs, Texas where his father bought a dairy.  Larry graduated from Bangs High School as a member of the Class of 1965.

In 1967 he married the love of his lifetime, Mary Johnson, from Brownwood, Texas.  They were married for 59 years and from this union they produced two fantastic children, Stephanie (Doug) Jester and Chad (Teena) Wickson.

He was a pipeline welder, mostly in the field of fabrication, for many years and when he got older, he inspected over pipeline installations until he retired in 2013.

He was predeceased by his parents, Lonnie and Lucille (Pickering) Wickson, his sister, Sharon Wickson Hawkins Jordan, one grandchild, Jeremy Wickson, and a niece, Glenda Hawkins Swindall.

He is survived by his wife Mary Johnson Wickson, his two children, Stephanie (Doug) Wickson Jester, Chad (Teena) Wickson, ten grandchildren, Ryder Sartor, Caitlin Bergquist, Brason Jester, Seth Wickson, Matthew Wickson, Sarah Hitzfeld, ShyAnn Wickson, Heath Speck, Matt Speck, Shayla Speck, and nine great grandchildren. He is also survived by one niece, Rhonda Hawkins Wilson, and nephew, Billy Earl Hawkins, and one cousin, Sandra Earles. He is also survived by other relatives who will miss him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on June 19, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 at Blaylock Funeral Home in Brownwood, Texas
