Kerry Denise Wheeler, a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on August 23, 2026, with her family by her side.

Kerry’s greatest joy was her family. She cherished spending time together, especially family cookouts, gathering around the table, playing games and making memories with the people she loved. Her love for her family was evident in the time she shared with them and the memories she created that will forever be treasured.

Kerry is survived by her sons, Cody Wayne Powell and Cyrus Britt May; her granddaughter, Cheylynn Paige Powell; her mother, Lydia Kay Wheeler-Varner; her brothers, Ronny Jay Wheeler, Kelly Leon Wheeler and his wife, Lorie Ann Wheeler, and Jacob Cole Wheeler and his wife, Robin Casey Wheeler; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her son, John Ross May; her grandparents, Charles and Lillie Powell and Cecil and Ethel Wheeler; and her father, Ronald Gean Wheeler.

Kerry leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a family who loved her deeply. Though she is no longer with them, her love, laughter, and the memories shared around family gatherings will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, August 28, 2026, at the Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel in Brownwood.
