Obituary

Johnny Dale Cook, 69, of Brady passed away on August 14th, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on March 10th, 1957, in Brady to Milford and Mattie (Lawrence) Cook.

Johnny never met a stranger, he spoke to every person who crossed his path, He loved going to garage sales, estate sales, and always bought random things that he thought his grandbabies or his great grandbabies needed. He looked forward to going to the coast to see the shrimp-boats and watch the waves from the ocean crash on the beach. He enjoyed going fishing and always talked about catching big fish. He loved telling his jokes and keeping everybody laughing. There was never a dull moment if he was around. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and loving his grandkids and great grandkids.

Johnny married the love of his life, Rosia Laverne Roberts, on June 13th, 1975, in Brady, in which they shared 51 special years together. Johnny and Rosia built their lives in Brady, where they raised their 3 children.

Johnny is survived by his loving wife, Rosia, his children: Samantha, Johnny Jr. & wife Jennifer, Tony & wife Danielle. Grandchildren: Justin, Mayson, J.D., Anthony, Tabitha, Colton, Kinsy, Cory, Roxy, Gracie, Riggins, and Jett. Great grandchildren: Cayson, Riven, and Brayden. Siblings: Judy Howell and husband Edward, Theresa Allin and husband Jerry. Sister-in-laws: Marla Cook and Velia Cook. Brother-in-law: Sylvester Roberts, along with numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved as his own.

Johnny was proceeded in death by his parents, his brothers Jerry and Eugene Cook, Sister-Debra Karnes and brother-in-law Mack Karnes.

Pall Bearers: Anthony Cook, Arty Roberts, Willy Williams, Jaimie Taliferro, Jerry Galindo, Kevin Rose.

Honorary Pallbearers: Sylvester Roberts, Buddy Corder, Matt Hodges, Jerry Allin, Justin Cook, Colton Cook and Cory Ruetschle.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Hospice of San Angelo. Darci, SueEllen, Keyla and Maggie, you were all a God send to Johnny, and he was blessed to have you all in his life.
