James "Lynn" Grantlyn Powell, age 57, of Bangs, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2025, at Hendrick Medical North in Abilene, Texas, after a lengthy illness.

Lynn was born on April 23, 1968, in Brownwood, Texas, to James Glen Powell and Beverly Hill. He was a beloved son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose presence touched the lives of many.

Lynn had a deep love for the open road, working for years as a truck driver and taking pride in seeing the beauty of this great country from behind the wheel of his big rig. He was an avid fisherman, loved to shoot his guns, and motorcycle enthusiast, always happiest when surrounded by family, friends, and the outdoors. Lynn was also proud to have served his country in the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his father, James "Jud" Powell; his mother, Beverly Hill; his uncle, Jimmy Hill; and his aunt, Phyllis Swindle.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Devin Sisco of Brownwood; daughter, Divanna Junkert of Tennessee; brother, Wes Powell and wife Angie; sisters, Mekeesha Braun and husband Mark, and Jessica Allison and husband Jimmy, all of Bangs. Lynn is also survived by his grandchildren, Bryson Balboa, Braylyn Powell, Layken Powell, Aspen Powell and Liam Junkert, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Minister Danny Marney.

Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home.

Lynn's warm heart, adventurous spirit, and the memories he created with those he loved will never be forgotten.
