Dorothy Ann Nadeau, 87, of Brownwood, Texas, passed away on June 25, 2026. She was born on March 5, 1939, in San Angelo, Texas, to J.C. and Grace (Vanzandt) James.
At a young age, Dorothy married Royce Christopher. During their marriage, they welcomed four children: Dee, Carol, Junior, and Steve. Royce preceded her in death.
Dorothy was a compassionate and caring mother, grandmother, and friend. She was known for her strong work ethic and dedication throughout her life. Her career included being a homemaker, a convenience store clerk, gardener, a bank teller for many years, and eventually becoming the first woman to serve as an Operations Officer at a large bank in Odessa. Whatever role she held, Dorothy took great pride in her work and approached every task with commitment and excellence.
She also had a love for gardening and found joy in caring for her flowers and plants. Over the years, Dorothy lived in Odessa, Midland, Arlington, Missouri, Rock Port, and ultimately made her home in Brownwood.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Barbara; and her grandson, Tony.
She is survived by her daughters, Dee, Carol, and Darla; her sons, Junior and Steve; along with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and many friends who will cherish her memory.
Private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
