David Jordan Green Jr., age 73, of Brookesmith, TX, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on September 16, 2026, in Brownwood, TX. He was born on March 30, 1953, in Azle, TX, to David and Nataleen (Rieck) Green.
Dave worked in many trades over the years, including construction, welding, and body shop work, and later as a service advisor at an automotive dealership. He retired from Waldrop Construction in 2016. He loved being retired and spending time working on his small farm while watching over his grandchildren. His teachings and sayings live on in them.
Working outdoors was where Dave was happiest, whether on a job site or on the farm he and Sandy called home. He took great pride in doing a job well, and he was always generous in sharing what he knew with the people working beside him, whether co-workers, friends, or family.
Dave and Sandy married in 1994 after three years together, and they shared 35 years side by side. They lived in Santa Rosa, CA, for 13 years before moving to Texas. Those years were filled with love as they raised their daughters and enjoyed camping trips, soccer games, and time with family and friends. Once in Texas, they spent every free moment enjoying country life together.
He leaves behind his wife, Sandy; his three beautiful daughters, Shelley (Robbie) Kinney of Rohnert Park, CA, Frankie (Hector Vaquera) Hegardt of Brownwood, TX, and Jennifer (Olan) Booher of Brookesmith, TX; his cherished grandchildren, Dylan and Samantha Kinney, Adrian, Donna Rose, and Adeley Barragan, and Wyatt and Scarlett Booher; his brother, Rick Green of McCloud, OK; his sister, April Felion of Mena, AR; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was deeply loved, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Nataleen Green; his brother, Larry Gross; and his sister, Ruth Ann Langdeau.
A memorial service will be held on October 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home in Brownwood, TX.
Arrangements are entrusted to Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.
