Darwin Dee Boscamp, 86, of Brownwood, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on May 31, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on August 6, 1939, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Harry and Bernice Boscamp, Darwin graduated from Mission High School, where he played football, baseball, and was a member of the band. After serving in the United States Army, he attended Southwest Texas State University and completed advanced banking studies.
He began his banking career in 1967 and moved to Brownwood in 1973. In 1980, he joined Citizens National Bank, where he rose to become President and Chief Executive Officer in 1995. During his nearly 20 years as CEO, he helped guide the bank's growth throughout Central Texas while remaining committed to community banking and serving others.
Darwin will be remembered not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his generosity, faith, and unwavering devotion to family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend who never met a stranger and always offered wisdom, encouragement, and support.
A lifelong golfer, Darwin treasured time on the course with friends and family and was especially proud of recording four holes-in-one.
He is survived by his sons, Derek Boscamp (Amy), Kevin Boscamp (Shea), and Lance Boscamp; his stepdaughter, Denise Grant (Victor); his brother, Ronnie Boscamp; his grandchildren, Collin Boscamp, Tate Boscamp (Brisa), Chloe Boscamp, Zach Peterson (Courtney), Lauren Payne (Chandler), Bradford Boscamp, London Boscamp, Kennedy Andrews (Thomas), Landry Boscamp, Cade Boscamp, and Owen and Payton Grant; and his great-grandchildren, Kinley Peterson, Axel Thomas Andrews, and Daphne Payne.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda Boscamp, and his parents, Harry and Bernice Boscamp.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Esther Ochoa and the caregivers of Hill Country and Solaris for their compassionate care and friendship.
Darwin leaves behind a legacy of integrity, service, faith, and family. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
