Bettye Sue Robinson

Bettye Sue Robinson was born December 21, 1955 in Austin, Texas to William Avery Robinson and Dorothy Benner Robinson. She passed away at the age of 67, peacefully in her sleep on November 8, 2023 in New Delhi, India, while on one of her many tour group vacations with her best friend and partner, Johnie Shahan. One of her favorite things to do was travel and see historical sites, beautiful destinations and the animals.

A private family graveside service will be held at Harris Cemetery in San Saba, Texas and will be officiated by Rev. John Alsbrooks. Funeral service is under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of San Saba.

Bettye Sue Robinson graduated in 1974 from Crockett High School in Austin, Texas and 1978 from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in accounting.

After she transferred with Heart of Texas Savings to San Saba in 1988 she met the love of her life, Johnie Shahan. Her family of friends increased with the addition of three more brothers and a sister for holiday gatherings and celebrations. After obtaining her CPA license, she partnered with her Dad assisting his clients in preparing their tax filings. Bettye eventually started her own practice with clients throughout central Texas until her retirement in 2020.

She was known for her integrity, kindness, and gentleness, always willing to foster a cat or dog. In the 1990's she rehabilitated a whitetail fawn, horned owl, and rabbits. She had a heart for all of God's creatures and her passion was to help them all.

Bettye is survived by her only brother William (Bill) P. Robinson;  sister-in-law Suzie C. Robinson and nephew Zachary (Zach) Robinson all of Bishop, California.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are Johnie and his family; Mike Shahan and friend Sherri Drake of San Saba; Teresa Sanderson of San Saba; Craig Shahan and wife Susan of Hondo, Texas; Floyd Shahan and wife Billie of Lometa, as well as Johnies' many nephews, nieces and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, William Avery Robinson and mother, Dorothy Janelle Benner Robinson.

Honorary Pallbearers include her nephew Zach Robinson and Craig Shahan.

Pallbearers include; Mike Shahan and Floyd Shahan; her nephews Steven Shahan, Zane Shahan, Joshua Shahan and Ryan Shahan along with nieces Sherie Shahan Loika, Shannon Barton, and Lacy Shahan McCandless.
