Obituary

Ben Autry Campbell, Jr., 75, was born to Ben Autry Campbell Sr. and Aline Elizabeth Barrow Campbell on August 3, 1947, in Lampasas, Texas, and departed this life at St. David's North Austin Medical Center in Austin, Texas, on October 11, 2022.

Ben graduated from San Saba High School and obtained his bachelor's degree from Sam Houston State University and masters degree from South West Texas State University. He worked for many years as a General Certified Real Estate Appraiser in the Texas Hill Country and West Texas. Ben enjoyed his work and the opportunity to travel many miles through areas he loved.

Ben also enjoyed competing in rodeo events (particularly steer wrestling), hunting, fishing, investing, and spending time with friends and family. He was a gregarious man who many remember for the stories he liked to tell about growing up in San Saba and spending time with friends. He was also a generous man who was willing to help someone struggling until that person got back on their feet.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Aline Campbell. He is survived by son Blake Campbell and wife Karen Campbell of Gainesville, Texas, daughter Cheyenne Lucas and husband Shannon Lucas of Canyon Lake, Texas, granddaughters--Catherine Campbell and Hannah Lucas, sister--Jerilynn Millican of Brownwood, Texas, and a number of people that he loved like family, including Jordan Lilly, Regina Randolph, Rory Kneese and others.
