Amelia Ann Newsom was born on November 3, 1979, at Darnall Army Medical Center in Fort Hood, Texas, to Charles and Gladys Newsom. She peacefully entered her heavenly home on July 1, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
A graduate of Belton High School, Amelia will be remembered for her radiant smile, warm hugs, and sweet kisses that brought joy to everyone who knew her. She had a wonderful sense of fun and especially loved playing UNO, where she earned a reputation as an unbeatable card shark. Amelia also enjoyed Taco Bell, Dr Pepper, Mickey Mouse, Snoopy, cartoons, farm animals, and football. She delighted in giving her nephews predictions on football games, confidently choosing the winner based solely on the team's mascot.
Amelia is lovingly remembered by her parents, Charles and Gladys Newsom, siblings, Angela and David Mitchell, William and Cassie Newsom, and Deborah and Tim Paden; her nephews, Jacob Mitchell and his wife, Scarlett, Austin Mitchell, and Jared Mitchell; and her nieces, Julia Paden and Lucy Paden. She is also survived by her aunts and uncles, Mary and Charlie Hamblin and Lonnie and Jeanette Hermann.
She shared a special friendship for many years with her roommate, Carmen, whose companionship brought her great happiness. She is also survived by Elizabeth Newsom, a cherished family friend of many years.
Amelia was preceded in death by her grandparents, Willis and Bessie Newsom and Hilda and Theodore Hermann.
Amelia was truly an angel on earth. Her gentle spirit, loving heart, and joyful presence touched countless lives, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
