Albert Bernal was born July 9, 1972, to Jessie and Yolanda Bernal of Brownwood. He has been a long-time resident of Brownwood. Albert met his love of life, Sara Bernal, back in college. They were married on June 10, 1994, in Port Isabel. They were blessed with five beautiful kids: Alex, Adrian, Andres, Alma and Alena

He loved being outside with Sara and his kids. Working on the ranch that he and Sara built together. He enjoyed watching his kids do the things they love. He supported them in all their dreams. He was known by many, for his kind heart and unwavering presence.  He never knew a stranger, there wasn't a place that he could go without him finding someone he knew, even out of town. His pride and joy were his grandkids. He always had a big smile when he walked through the door after work seeing his kids and grandkids. His favorite place was sitting outside, a cold one in his hands, talking with his kids, and watching his grandkids running around playing.

Albert is survived by his wife of 31 years, Sara Bernal of Blanket; Children, Alex and John Geis of Brownwood, Adrian and Daren Johnson of Bangs, Alma and Alena Bernal of Blanket; and 6 Grandchildren; Xavier, Weston, Region, Evelyn, Avah and Stetson. He was survived by his mother, Yoland Bernal of Brownwood, and his four siblings: Joann and Jorge Martinez, Jessica and Sabino Alvarado, JB Bernal, Juan and Melissa Bernal, numerous family and friends.

He is preceded in death by one son that he missed dearly, Jesus Andres Bernal, his father, Jessie Bernal, grandparent Aristeo & Herminia Cardenas and David Bernal & Maria de Jesus Gamboa Bernal, father-in-law, Jesus Garza, and number of aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be Monday, May 4, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Blaylock Funeral Home in Brownwood. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 pm at the Bangs Church of Christ, with interment to follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early.
